Disability Apex Inc. was founded in 2001 with a single, clear mission — to help individuals obtain the Social Security Disability benefits they had earned and rightfully deserved.

We are a faith-based, family-oriented firm. Our work is guided by the belief that every client deserves to be treated with dignity, honesty, and genuine care — the same way we'd want a member of our own family to be treated. That conviction shapes every decision we make and every conversation we have.

In the 25 years since we opened our doors, that mission has never changed. What has grown is the depth of our experience, the breadth of our reach, and the trust placed in us by clients across the nation.

Meet Our Experts

The husband-and-wife team behind Disability Apex.

Lisa & Charles Lawrence founded Disability Apex Inc. in 2001. Together they have represented thousands of clients and won thousands of cases, specializing in navigating every intricate step of a Social Security Disability claim — and winning. Their extensive knowledge of disability law and meticulous attention to detail have driven their success year after year. The mission has always been simple: to help people. In 2019, Charles and Lisa added to their expertise by becoming licensed in life and health insurance — one more way they continue serving their clients.

Lisa Lawrence

Lisa is a graduate of Florida A&M University, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in History Education in 1996. While pursuing her Master's Degree in Counseling at FAMU, she was hired by the Office of Disability Determinations (ODD) in 1999, where her work was to determine whether claimants met the Social Security Administration's extensive disability criteria.

After several years at ODD, Lisa's passion for helping people in need of benefits led her to co-found Disability Apex Inc. — so the work could continue on a much greater scale.

In 2007, Lisa solidified her footprint in the industry by successfully sitting for the EDPNA exam administered by the Social Security Administration. EDPNA certification is a federal credential that authorizes experienced representatives to represent claimants in SSDI and SSI cases before Administrative Law Judges at hearings.

Charles Lawrence

Charles is a graduate of Tallahassee State College with a degree in Business Administration. After managing several successful businesses, Charles was instrumental in launching Disability Apex Inc. He brought to the firm the state-of-the-art systems, operations, and marketing infrastructure that ensure every client receives the individualized attention their case requires.

By 2007, Charles chose to become even more hands-on and began training as a disability expert. In the summer of 2013, he reached a significant professional milestone by qualifying as an Eligible for Direct Payment Non-Attorney (EDPNA) — a designation conferred by the Social Security Administration following a comprehensive exam covering SSI, SSDI, and the procedural and regulatory framework of disability claims.

His focus is guiding clients through the entire process, from initial filing through the Administrative Law Judge hearing level, representing them personally before the court. His EDPNA status reflects his resolute commitment to supporting disabled individuals with compassion, integrity, and skill.
